Rev. Allen E. Warren
Reverend Allen E. Warren is the senior pastor of Gaston Chapel AME Church in Morganton, North Carolina. He was born in Alamance County to the late Allen and Argrow Warren. He is married to Linda Perkins Warren, and they have four children: Tyrone, Christopher, Christian and Geanna. They also have a granddaughter Kaylisha, who lives with them in Burlington, NC. After graduation from high school, he attended Alamance County Community College, and later joined the United States Navy.
Pastor Warren has served on numerous Boards in Alamance County, and is currently a member of Concerned Citizens of Alamance County. He was the former Vice President of the Ministers Alliance of Alamance County, former Board Member of the Commission of Allied Churches of Alamance, and the Chairperson for the Community Watch in his community. He is also an honorary member of the Burlington Police Department. He received numerous awards during his employment as General Manager with Byrd's Distribution Center in Burlington, NC. He is the founder and current President on the Board of the Angel Heart Outreach Ministry, a 501c 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to empower the disenfranchised by providing educational and economic opportunities.
His dedication and service to the Lord, and his love for the ministry has spanned over a twenty-seven year period. He is the former pastor of New Harris AME Church, Hillsborough, NC; St. Stephens AME Church, Mt. Gilead, NC; Johnson Chapel AME Church, Mebane, NC; Springdale AME Church, Alamance, NC; Wayman Chapel AME Church, Graham NC and St. John AME Church, Raleigh, NC.
He is a firm believer in the power of young people, and supports programs that foster educational opportunities for them to excel and fulfill their dreams.
He serves as a mentor and role model for young aspiring ministers, through his encouraging words of wisdom, and by the example that he models as a true servant of the Most High God.
Please come out and worship with us on Sunday, November 10th at 11 am as we celebrate Lay Witness Sunday at Gaston Chapel AME Church. Sister Barbara R. Myers, President of the Western North Carolina Lay Organization will be the speaker, and a covered dish dinner and class leader training will follow. Let’s move forward to make the “Church at its best!”
